UK Vegan Pet Food Brand Omni Launches Cultivated Chicken Pet Food! UK-based vegan pet food brand Omni has launched a new cat food product made from cultured chicken. This innovation aims to provide essential nutrients commonly found in animal tissues while being cruelty-free and optimized for health.
Unlike traditional meat, whole chicken can be fortified with vitamins and minerals without risk of antibiotics or chemicals.
Omni’s co-founders and veterinary surgeon Drs. Guy Sandelowski developed the product in collaboration with former banker Shiv Shiv Kumar and experts from Nottingham Veterinary School and the European Pet Food Industry Association
Omni was founded by two professionals from different professions: veterinary surgeon Dr. John McCarthy; Guy Sandelowski and former banker Shiv Shivkumar have teamed up with experts from the UK’s Nottingham Veterinary School and the European Pet Food Industry (FEDIAF) to develop Omni’s line of pet food
The company has also announced a landmark partnership with Meatly aimed at becoming the first B2B product offering globally for cultured meat in pet foods, pending regulatory approval in the UK and Europe -Provides equity, addresses concerns about expensive supply of cultured meat
Omni produces its liquid food products in the Netherlands and Poland and plans to expand its sales throughout Europe, focusing on key markets such as Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy and Switzerland Since March 2024, Omni has been serving customers more than 20,000 units and £2 million (US $2.5 million) in sales, mainly from its range of dog foods including pumpkin, algae and yeast protein food.
